Another day to examine the dangers on our roads. There are a lot of things that cause accident on our roads ranging from poor vehicle maintenance, poor roads, careless driving among others.
One major factor that has been ignored for sometime now is the role of the police in preventing road accidents. Some vehicles are virtually loaded to kill from the beginning of their journey till they get to their destination.
Following the vehicle below from Winneba to Accra got me asking a lot of question. Do the police work during public holidays? or Is the country without protection during public holidays.
The video below shows a better picture of what I am driving at.
How did this vehicle get past all police check points to get this far. It amazing when you see the passengers in the vehicle very calm, not bothered and waiting to get to their destination. Some just believing in the fact that they have prayed. I strongly believe the police are working hard to make the road safe, however, I think the public holidays are being taken for granted by road users to transport and uses certain poorly maintained vehicles on the road.
